Unveiling of EU-supported Local Development Strategies for Three Municipalities of Guria

Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri, Lanchkhuti, March 27-29, 2024 –  CENN and partner organisations, alongside local action groups (LAGs), unveiled the strategy documents developed with the support of the European Union for three municipalities of Guria – Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri, and Lanchkhuti – as part of the EU-funded “Green Guria – Support for local democracy and rural development for inclusive and sustainable green growth” project.

The purpose of the meetings was to discuss the local development strategies of Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri, and Lanchkhuti developed within the “Green Guria – Support for Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Sustainable Green Growth” project and to introduce the documents to all interested parties. Additionally, during the meeting, the presentation was held showcasing the completed works within the project as well as the activities of the local action groups (LAGs) in Ozurgeti, Chokhatauri, and Lanchkhuti.

The events were attended by representatives of local governments, Guria regional administration, local action groups (LAGs), the local civil sector, local entrepreneurs, and others interested. The meeting welcomed all members of the Guria region community to participate.

CENN implements the project in cooperation with partner organisations, the Young Pedagogues’ Union, the Institute of Democracy, and the Local Action Group of KEDA (LAG), supported by the European Union within the European Neighbourhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development ENPARD IV. The project aims to reduce poverty and improve the economic and social environment, as well as the living conditions of vulnerable communities, through civic engagement, inclusive rural development, and green growth.
